Every building argues differently

The cable is the same. What changes is the ceiling, who is standing under it while we work, and what breaks if a run goes down. Here is how we approach the building types we work in most.

We work out of Oklahoma City and travel nationwide for commercial projects and multi-site rollouts.

Offices and tenant fit-outs

Suites turned over between tenants, on a schedule set by a lease rather than by us.

Fit-outs run against a move-in date, so the cabling has to be finished and tested before furniture lands, not after. We walk the suite while it is still open, take the real distances from the closet to each desk position, and land everything back to one distribution point so the next tenant change is a patch rather than a pull.

Warehouses and distribution

High bays, long runs, and coverage that has to hold up at floor level and at height.

Distance is the whole problem in a warehouse. Copper has a hard limit, and the honest answer is often fiber to an intermediate closet rather than a heroic single run. We measure the real path the cable can take, around racking and through structure, before anyone quotes a number.

Medical and clinics

Occupied space with patients in it, where the disruptive work has to be scheduled around care.

Clinics rarely close, so the parts of the job that make noise or block a corridor get planned up front and done outside of hours. We stage the work so exam rooms come back online the same day they go offline.

Retail

Registers, back office, and cameras that have to be working on opening day.

Retail cabling is judged on one thing: whether the store opens on time. We plan the register positions, the back office, and the camera coverage as one job so nothing waits on a second trip.

Schools

Summer windows, long corridors, and buildings that were wired in several different decades.

School work is defined by the calendar. The window is short and immovable, so the walkthrough matters more here than anywhere: we would rather find the surprise in the ceiling in March than in July.

  • Scoped and scheduled against the break, with phases that can stand alone
  • Building-to-building fiber across a campus, direct burial or aerial
  • Existing closets audited and documented rather than added to blindly

Multi-tenant buildings

Shared risers, a backbone that has to be planned rather than improvised, and tenants who each think the closet is theirs.

In a multi-tenant building the backbone is the asset and the tenant runs come and go around it. We plan the riser and the main distribution so adding a floor or turning a suite does not mean rebuilding anything.

General contractors

A low voltage sub who shows up when the schedule says, and does not hold up the trades behind them.

Working for a GC is a different job from working for a building owner. The scope has to be legible, the schedule has to be real, and the rough-in has to be ready when the inspector is.
